Wyra doesn't reach out to everyone who fits a broad persona definition. It reaches out to the prospects most likely to find your offering genuinely relevant — and the Outreach Score is how that determination is made automatically, before any message is sent.
The real answer to “who does Wyra contact?”
Relevance, not volume. The score gates who gets reached out to.
When you define a campaign persona — job titles, industries, company sizes, locations — you're drawing a broad pool of potential prospects. But Wyra doesn't contact everyone in that pool. For every prospect it identifies, Wyra generates an Outreach Score that measures how well that person's profile maps to the combination of your offering and your persona. Only prospects scoring 50 or above receive any outreach. Everyone below that threshold is filtered out automatically — no configuration needed, no manual review required.

Why this matters more than an exclusion list
An industry exclusion list tells Wyra who not to contact. The Outreach Score tells Wyra who is worth contacting — a fundamentally different and more precise mechanism. Rather than manually maintaining a list of excluded categories, Wyra's relevance scoring ensures that only prospects with a genuine fit for your offering enter the outreach motion in the first place. A prospect in a target industry with a weak fit scores below 50 and is filtered out. A prospect in an adjacent industry with a strong fit scores above 50 and gets reached out to. The score reflects actual relevance — not just whether they belong to the right category.
What the score measures
Fit between the prospect and the offering-persona combination.
The Outreach Score is a composite signal. It draws from multiple dimensions of the prospect's profile and maps them against the specific offering and persona you've configured for this campaign. The exact weighting of each dimension is part of Wyra's intelligence layer — what matters for you to know is what it's measuring conceptually.
Role and seniority fit
How closely does this person’s title and function match the persona you defined? A VP of Engineering targeted in a DevOps campaign scores higher than a junior developer at the same company.
Industry and sub-industry alignment
How closely does the prospect’s industry match the industries and sub-industries targeted in your offering and persona? Wyra works at sub-industry granularity — a prospect in Financial Services scores differently depending on whether they’re in Banking vs. InsurTech vs. Payments.
Company context
Does the company’s size, growth stage, and technology profile suggest this offering is relevant to their current situation? Wyra factors in company-level signals alongside individual profile signals.
Offering-specific relevance
How well does what you’re selling map to what this person likely needs? The offering’s pain points, solutions, and target audience definition all feed into how Wyra scores each prospect’s fit for that specific campaign.
The score you see in Interactions
Every prospect that appears in your Interactions table has already cleared the 50-point threshold. The score shown there reflects their full relevance signal — useful for prioritizing who to follow up with personally. Higher scores indicate stronger fit and are typically worth your direct attention first.
Two paths into Wyra. Two different rules.
Intelligence-sourced and list-sourced prospects are treated differently by design.

Outreach score gate always enforced
When Wyra identifies prospects from its intelligence layer — based on your persona and offering — every prospect is scored before any outreach begins. Only those scoring 50 or above enter the active outreach motion. This applies across all channels: email, LinkedIn, and calling.
✓ Score gate: 50+ requiredLists — your own contacts
Score gate does not apply
When you upload your own contact list, you've already made the targeting decision. Wyra enriches every lead fully and makes them available for outreach without applying the 50-point threshold. You own that list. Wyra trusts your judgment.
→ No score gate on user-uploaded listsList-based outreach is an upcoming feature. When released, enriched list contacts will be available across email, LinkedIn, and calling without Outreach Score gating — as described above.
Sub-industry precision — an additional control available today
Targeting works at sub-industry granularity, not just top-level industry.
Industry–Sub-industry gating is already implemented
Beyond the Outreach Score, Wyra already supports targeting at the sub-industry level. When configuring your campaign persona, you can specify not just an industry but a sub-vertical within it — for example, targeting Cloud Infrastructure within Technology, or Commercial Banking within Financial Services. This means if there's a specific sub-vertical you want to exclude or focus on, you can control that directly in your persona setup today. The Outreach Score then refines further from there.
Improving your score distribution
If a high proportion of your campaign prospects are scoring below 50 and being filtered out, the most common fix is upstream — either the offering needs more specific pain points and proof points, or the persona targeting is too broad. A well-defined offering and a focused persona produce a higher percentage of high-scoring prospects. Sparse offerings and vague personas produce a lower percentage — and more filtered-out contacts.
