Using the CRM Assistant

Written by the Wyra team · Last updated September 2026

The CRM assistant is Wyra's chat, docked beside your CRM. Open it on a board or a record and it already knows what you're looking at. Ask it to summarise a deal, find what's closing, draft a note or move a stage. Every change comes back as a card, and nothing is written until you approve it.

Where it lives

Open it from the Wyra button on Companies, People and Opportunities.

The assistant is offered on the Companies, People and Opportunities boards and on each of their record pages. Look for the small square button with the Wyra mark (its tooltip reads Open the assistant):

On a board

Top right, beside the New Company, New Person or New Opportunity button.

On a company or person

At the right-hand end of the record's tab strip.

On an opportunity

In the Overview row at the top of the record.

Click it and the assistant opens as a column on the right of the page. It sits beside the board rather than over it, so what you're asking about stays in view. Drag its left edge to make it wider or narrower; Wyra remembers the width. Click the button again, or the ×in the assistant's header, to close it.

It starts closed every time you come to the CRM, so it never takes space you didn't ask for.

Once open, it stays open as you move between companies, people and opportunities. A reply that's still being written carries on while you navigate.

It isn't offered on the other CRM tabs, such as Tasks and Notes, and it closes when you leave the CRM.

Don't see the button?

The assistant needs two things. First, access to the CRM: if CRM is in your sidebar, you have it. Second, the vertical sidebar layout, which Wyra uses when your browser window is at least 1,100 pixels wide. In a narrower window, where the navigation collapses into a menu, the button is hidden. Widen the window and it appears.

Context

The page you're on is the context.

You don't have to tell the assistant which record you mean. A strip under its header shows what it has attached:

The context chip

On a board it reads board followed by the board's name, such as Opportunities. On a record it names the record, such as opportunity followed by the deal's name. Each message you send shows the same context as a small chip above it, such as Opportunity · Acme renewal.

The AWS chip

Shows whether your workspace's AWS Partner Central connection is usable: connected (in amber, with the catalog it's linked to), connection needs attention, or not connected.

Pull in another record with @

Type @ followed by at least two letters of a name. A list of matching companies, people and opportunities opens above the message box. Use the arrow keys and Enter, or click, to pin one. Pinned records appear as chips above the box, and ×removes one. Use it to compare two deals or to ask about a contact from an opportunity's page.

Quick actions

One click to start on a record.

A fresh session on a record page opens with Ask about this company (or person, or opportunity) and four quick actions. Each one sends its question straight away:

Summarise

Asks Wyra to summarise this record.

Draft a note

Asks Wyra to draft a note on this record from what it can see. The note arrives as a card for you to approve.

Next step

Asks what the next step on this record should be.

What does AWS say?

Asks AWS Partner Central what it has on this deal. Outlined in amber because the question leaves Wyra. It needs a connected AWS account.

On a board there are no quick actions. The empty session reads Ask about what's on the board and you type your own question.

What you can ask

It reads your whole CRM and proposes changes to it.

Ask in plain words. While Wyra works, each step it takes shows as a one-line row in plain English, such as Listing CRM opportunities… and then Listed CRM opportunities. Press Esc or the stop button to stop a reply partway through.

Reads, no approval needed

List and count companies, people, opportunities, tasks and notes.

Find opportunities by stage, owner or close date, or by their AWS Partner Central id.

Read a record in full, with its recent changes and latest notes.

List your pipelines and their stages.

Pull up everything Wyra has researched about a person, and what AWS said about them if they were sent for enrichment.

Changes, always as a card

Add a note to a record.

Update a record's fields, including moving an opportunity to another stage.

Create a company, person, opportunity, task or note.

Delete a record.

Send a person to AWS Partner Central for enrichment.

Updates are limited to the fields that make sense to change from a conversation:

OpportunitiesName, description, amount, currency, close date, stage
CompaniesName, domain, industry, employees, LinkedIn, address
PeopleFirst and last name, email, phone, job title, city, LinkedIn, lifecycle stage, lead status
TasksTitle, body, status, due date
NotesTitle, body

Asking AWS about a deal

With AWS Partner Central connected, the assistant can put your question to AWS's own Partner Central agent and relay its answer, attributed to AWS. AWS's agent decides which Partner Central operations to run. If it wants to write anything to AWS, that comes back to you as an amber card first. Without a connection, the assistant tells you so. See AWS co-sell for how to connect.

Approval cards

Nothing changes until you approve.

When Wyra proposes a change, it appears in the conversation as a card marked Needs your approval. The header names the kind of change (Note, Update, Create, Delete or Enrichment), and the card spells out exactly what will happen:

1

Read the change. An update shows each field's old value () above its new value (+). A new record lists its fields, and a note shows its text.

The title says what it is, such as “Update Acme renewal” or “Add a note to Jane Doe”

2

Click Approve to make the change, or Reject to drop it.

The change is written as you, so the record's history shows your name

3

The card changes to Approved or Rejected, and a line underneath says what happened.

If Wyra drafts a new version of the change, the earlier card is marked Replaced

Updates are safe from overwrites

If anyone edits the record after the card was drafted, approving is refused and nothing is written. Ask for the change again to get a fresh card.

Deleting an opportunity or task

The card warns “This cannot be undone.” and its button reads Delete. These records are removed permanently.

Deleting a company or person

The record is removed from the CRM but archived, not destroyed. The card says so.

AWS cards are amber

Sending a person for enrichment, or a write AWS's agent wants to make, is marked AWS. Approving forwards your answer to AWS, and Partner Central can't undo it.

Your role still applies

Anyone who can see a board can ask the assistant about it. Approving a change is checked against your role, like any other edit in the CRM. If your role doesn't allow the change, Wyra says so and nothing is written. Every refusal tells you why, such as a record that no longer exists or a card that was already decided.

Sessions and history

One conversation at a time, filed by board and record.

The assistant shows one session at a time, named at the top (a new one reads New sessionuntil Wyra gives it a title). Sessions belong to the board or record they were started on. When you open another record, the assistant switches to that record's most recent session, or to an empty one if you haven't asked about it yet.

History (clock icon)

Lists This opportunity (or company, person, board) first, then up to six Other CRM sessions, each with its date. Click one to reopen it.

New session (+)

Starts a fresh conversation on the current board or record. Earlier sessions stay in the history.

Open in full chat ↗

At the bottom of the history menu. Takes you to the Chat page, where the same conversations live.

The line under the message box counts the steps Wyra has taken in this session and, when any are waiting, how many cards need you, for example 6 steps · 1 waiting for you.

The grouping lives in this browser

Which board or record each session belongs to is remembered in the browser you used. On another browser, or after clearing site data, the history menu won't group your earlier CRM sessions, but the conversations themselves are kept and you can still find them in Chat.

Assistant vs. Chat

Same Wyra, same conversations, a different front.

The CRM assistant and the Chat page in your sidebar (marked Beta) are the same assistant, with the same conversations and the same approval cards. What differs is the layout:

CRM assistant

Beside the record you're working on.

A narrow column that picks up the page as context. It has @ to pin records, quick actions on records, and sessions filed by board and record. There's no conversation list or document panel, because the board beside it plays that role.

Chat page

Everything else Wyra can do.

A full page with every conversation in a list, for building offerings, planning campaigns and anything that isn't about one CRM record.

Using Chat

Only have CRM access?

The Chat page is part of Dashboard access. If your role gives you the CRM but not Dashboard, you can use the assistant inside the CRM, but Open in full chat won't open the Chat page for you.
